FAQ - Customer Engagement*
What is a QR code, and what does it stand for?
“QR” stands for Quick Response. A QR code is a two‑dimensional barcode that stores information and can be scanned by smartphones.
In Xathari CEP, QR codes are used to power engagement campaigns, track scans, and route users to UTM‑enhanced landing pages.
Can I generate QR codes in bulk with Xathari?

Xathari CEP currently supports one QR code per engagement campaign.
Bulk QR generation is planned for a future release.

With Xathari CEP, QR codes also provide:

The QR code image itself does not change — only the destination URL updates.
What is UTM?
In digital marketing, UTM stands for Urchin Tracking Module. It refers to snippets of code added to the end of a URL to help track where website traffic comes from and how specific campaigns perform. Marketers attach specific parameters to a URL (separated by ? and &) to send data back to analytics tools like Google Analytics:
- Source (utm_source): Where the traffic comes from (e.g., google, newsletter, twitter).
- Medium (utm_medium): The marketing channel (e.g., cpc, email, social).
- Campaign (utm_campaign): The specific product, promo, or event name (e.g., summer_sale).
Can I update the QR code after printing?

Because Xathari uses dynamic QR codes, you can update the destination URL anytime without reprinting the QR code.
Can I change the QR code design after generating it?
No.

Can I resize my QR code?

NFC FAQ
--------------------------------------------------------
What is NFC?
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short‑range wireless technology that lets users open a link by tapping their phone on an NFC tag. It works similarly to QR codes but without needing to open the camera.
Can I use NFC tags with Xathari?
Yes. Any NFC tag that supports storing a URL can be programmed with your Xathari tracking link.
How do I program an NFC tag with my Xathari link?
Use any NFC writing app (such as NFC Tools or NXP TagWriter) and write your shortened Xathari URL to the tag. Then tap your phone to the tag to test it.
What type of NFC tags should I use?
We recommend NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 tags. These are widely supported and work with most modern smartphones.
Do NFC tags need power or batteries?
No. NFC tags are passive and do not require charging or external power.
Does Xathari track NFC taps the same way as QR scans?
Yes. When someone taps an NFC tag, it opens your Xathari tracking URL, fires the same tracking event, and redirects the user to your destination page.
Can I lock my NFC tag after writing it?
Yes, most NFC apps allow you to lock a tag. Locking is permanent, so only do this once you’re sure the URL is correct.
Can I rewrite an NFC tag later?
If the tag is unlocked, yes. If it has been locked, it cannot be rewritten.
Do all phones support NFC?
Most modern iPhones and Android devices support NFC. Some older or budget Android models may not.
Is NFC better than QR codes?
Both work well. NFC offers a tap‑to‑open experience, while QR codes work at a distance and don’t require physical contact. Many businesses use both.
Can I use NFC and QR codes in the same campaign?
Yes. Both can point to the same Xathari tracking URL and will be tracked consistently.
