FAQ - Customer Engagement
What is a QR code?
A QR code (“Quick Response”) is a two‑dimensional barcode that can be scanned by smartphones. In Xathari CEP, QR codes power engagement campaigns and route users to landing pages with tracking parameters.
Can I generate QR codes in bulk?
Not yet. Xathari currently supports one QR code per engagement campaign.
Why do I need a QR code for my business?
QR codes connect physical touchpoints (signage, packaging, menus, flyers) to digital experiences. With Xathari CEP, QR codes also provide scan tracking, device insights, and location insights.
My QR code is not working. What should I check?
Common causes:
- Incorrect landing page URL
- QR code printed too small
- Low contrast or poor lighting
- Damaged or blurry print
- Campaign paused or expired
- Time‑bound campaign outside its active window
Does Xathari use static or dynamic QR codes?
Xathari uses dynamic QR codes, which allow you to update the destination URL anytime without reprinting.
Can I create a dynamic QR code for free?
Yes. Xathari offers a free trial for new users.
Is there a scan limit?
No. Xathari QR codes support unlimited scans.
How many QR codes can I create?
You can create unlimited engagement campaigns (and therefore unlimited QR codes).
Can a single QR code lead to multiple destinations?
Not currently.
How do I edit a QR code?
Edit the campaign’s UTM parameters or destination URL. The QR image stays the same.
What is UTM?
UTM parameters help track where website traffic comes from. CEP automatically builds UTM URLs for each campaign.
Can I update a QR code after printing?
Yes — dynamic QR codes allow URL updates anytime.
Can I customize the QR code design?
Not currently.
Can I delete a QR code?
Yes. Deleting a campaign disables its QR code.
Can I resize my QR code?
Yes. Use PNG or SVG formats. For print, use at least 2×2 inches and maintain high contrast.
How do I scan a QR code?
Use your phone’s camera or any QR scanning app.
Does Xathari support password‑protected QR codes?
Not at this time.
Can I create QR codes for files?
Yes — upload your file to your website or cloud storage and use the file URL.
Does Xathari support vCard or digital business card QR codes?
Not currently.
How do I track QR code performance?
View campaign‑level scans, device types, locations, and trends in the CEP dashboard.
Does Xathari support GPS heat maps?
Yes. Scan Locations includes a map with scan markers.
Can I create QR codes for audio or video files?
Yes — as long as the file is hosted online.
Does Xathari support white‑label QR codes?
Not currently.
Can I clone or duplicate a QR code?
Not yet.
Does Xathari have a built‑in UTM builder?
Yes. CEP automatically generates UTM parameters.
Can I use QR codes for restaurant menus?
Yes — upload your menu online and use the URL.
Does Xathari show ads when QR codes are scanned?
No.
Does Xathari offer an API?
Not yet.
Does Xathari have an affiliate program?
Not currently.
Why Don't Segment Totals Add Up tothe Overall Totals?
Because a single session can appear in more than one segment.
This is expected behavior in analytics platforms (GA4, Adobe, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).

NFC FAQ
--------------------------------------------------------
What is NFC?
NFC (Near Field Communication) is a short‑range wireless technology that lets users open a link by tapping their phone on an NFC tag. It works similarly to QR codes but without needing to open the camera.
Can I use NFC tags with Xathari?
Yes. Any NFC tag that supports storing a URL can be programmed with your Xathari tracking link.
How do I program an NFC tag with my Xathari link?
Use any NFC writing app (such as NFC Tools or NXP TagWriter) and write your shortened Xathari URL to the tag. Then tap your phone to the tag to test it.
What type of NFC tags should I use?
We recommend NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 tags. These are widely supported and work with most modern smartphones.
Do NFC tags need power or batteries?
No. NFC tags are passive and do not require charging or external power.
Does Xathari track NFC taps the same way as QR scans?
Yes. When someone taps an NFC tag, it opens your Xathari tracking URL, fires the same tracking event, and redirects the user to your destination page.
Can I lock my NFC tag after writing it?
Yes, most NFC apps allow you to lock a tag. Locking is permanent, so only do this once you’re sure the URL is correct.
Can I rewrite an NFC tag later?
If the tag is unlocked, yes. If it has been locked, it cannot be rewritten.
Do all phones support NFC?
Most modern iPhones and Android devices support NFC. Some older or budget Android models may not.
Is NFC better than QR codes?
Both work well. NFC offers a tap‑to‑open experience, while QR codes work at a distance and don’t require physical contact. Many businesses use both.
Can I use NFC and QR codes in the same campaign?
Yes. Both can point to the same Xathari tracking URL and will be tracked consistently.
